Honoring Excellence: Our MO Receives a Distinguished Recognition
We are delighted to celebrate our beloved Mission Overseer, Dr. Smart S. Ebinne, who has been honored with the Distinguished Meritorious Obstetrics and Gynecological ICON Award by the Association of West African Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AWASOG) and the West African College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (WACOG).
This prestigious award was presented during the Annual Dinner at the 4th Congress, held at De Silver Green Hotel, Abuja, on Friday, 5th September 2025. His name appeared as No. 135 on the list of honorees, alongside his lifelong friend, Prof. Uche Onwudiegwu (No. 33).
In his humble words of gratitude, Dr. Ebinne shared:
“This is very humbling and commendable. I have almost died working for this country among women as a missionary obstetrician-gynecologist. I took the highest number of deliveries (by an obstetrician) myself to help reduce maternal morbidity and mortality around me.
This is the first time any group or body recognized me. It wouldn’t have mattered, because I did it for my Chief Consultant and Great Physician. Thank you, FWACOG.”
We join in celebrating this well-deserved recognition of a life dedicated to saving lives, serving humanity, and glorifying God through medical excellence and compassion.
